Paediatric Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist, Starship Children's Health
Starship Children's Health serves a paediatric population in New Zealand of over two million. The hospital has approximately 150 inpatient beds and has all the ancillary support services and subspecialities represented. The paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology service provides a national tertiary referral service for varied and complex gastroenterology and hepatology cases including inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure and chronic liver disease amongst others and performs approximately seven to eight liver transplants in a year. It also provides an inpatient intravenous nutrition service.
Our current team includes three consultants supported by two nurse specialists and a fellow in training and junior medical staff. This role is ideally suited for someone seeking a full-time, permanent position who has wide gastroenterology and hepatology experience and is well versed in endoscopic procedures. There will be opportunities for teaching and research, as well as outreach clinics outside of Auckland.

Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist, Department of Paediatric Nephrology, Starship Children's Health
Applications are invited for the position of Paediatric Nephrologist at Starship Children's Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand. The position is full-time and will replace a retiring consultant. The successful applicant will be working in a dedicated multi-disciplinary team that currently consists of three consultants and two nurse specialists providing a high quality clinical service. The person will participate in all aspects of clinical service, teaching, quality assurance activities with opportunities for clinical research. Vocational training in paediatric nephrology is required.
Starship Children's Hospital is the only comprehensive children's hospital in the country serving a population of approximately one million. The department of nephrology provides comprehensive care to children with renal disease throughout New Zealand and is the only national referral centre for paediatric nephrology. The service has one of the largest chronic dialysis programs in Australasia with up to six kidney transplants undertaken each year. The service provides extensive outreach support to children with kidney disease. The institution has a full complement of subspecialty medical and surgical services including both general and cardiac paediatric intensive care facilities.
The successful applicant must be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
