Rheumatic Fever and RHD Symposium 19 August: Registration and Preliminary programme

Dear colleagues,

 

We warmly invite you to attend the symposium "Appraising Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease Control in New Zealand"  to be held at the Ko Awatea Centre, Middlemore Hospital, on Monday 19 August.

 

This one day symposium is funded by the National Heart Foundation and will review the current status of ARF and RHD in New Zealand, with a focus on progressing prevention and control activities.

 

Whanau and community voice will be integrated throughout the day.  Global issues in ARF / RHD control will be discussed along with priority issues for New Zealand.  In the afternoon there will  be a series of interactive workshops focused on strengthening whanau and community voices, research, and progressing the case for a national ARF Register.

 

We are delighted to welcome Professor Liesl Zuhlke, Paediatric Cardiologist from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, as our keynote speaker, together with Sara Noonan, RHD Australia, and Dr Sai Boladuadua, RHD Fiji.
