Our 2-day virtual course, Core Knowledge in Paediatrics, takes place from 15 – 16 October 2021.

During the first day of our programme, we will engage with experts and content relating to, among others, Rheumatology (including "the limping child"), Emergency Medicine and PICU, Adolescent Medicine & Mental Health as well as Haematology/Oncology.

On day 1 of our programme, we will, among others, discuss:

 
Liviana Da Dalt
Emergency medicine and PICU

Prof Liviana Da Dalt is the Head of the Department of Women and Children's Health as well as the Paediatric Emergency and Acute Care Unit at the University of Padova.

Liviana's main areas of research are minor head trauma in children; severe and invasive infections in febrile infants; urinary tract infections (predictors of renal damage); respiratory infections in ED/acute setting; adverse drug reaction monitoring & education and training in pediatrics. 

 
Natasja Dors
Haematology /Oncology

Dr Natasja Dors is a pediatric hemato-oncologist and works at the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht in the Netherlands.

Her current research is focuses on communication with children and parents in the diagnostic phase and on education about rare diseases. 

 
Peter Bal
Rheumatology (including "the limping child")

Dr Peter Bale is a paediatric rheumatology consultant based at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge in the UK. He works within the Child and Adolescent East of England Rheumatology Service (CHEERS) looking after children and young people with rheumatological conditions across our large geographical region.

He is passionate about medication education and hold a Post Graduate Certificate (PGCME) from the University of Cambridge. 

 
Pierre-Andre Michaud
Adolescent Medicine & Mental Health

Honorary Professor in Adolescent Medicine and Health at the Faculty of Biology & Medicine of Lausanne in Switzerland, Dr Pierre-Andre Michaud is the author of ~230 peer-reviewed publications and ~30 book chapters.

He is a consultant for the World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNFPA. In addition, he is currently the vice president of the Ethics Commission for Biomedical Research of French-speaking Switzerland.
