Attending PET will help you improve the diagnosis of epileptic and non-epileptic events, enhance the standard of care, and understand when to liaise with a paediatric neurologist.
Participants have reported significant knowledge gains and improved clinical practice, with many making positive changes to their local clinical services as a result.
Don’t miss this opportunity to advance your expertise and improve care for children with epilepsy.
Please email Lynette Sadleir at lynette.sadleir@otago.ac.nz if you have any questions about the course.
More information on Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) Courses
The Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) courses provide essential professional development for general paediatricians who diagnose or manage children and young people with seizures and epilepsy. Originally developed by the British Paediatric Neurology Association, these courses are now internationally recognised and have been offered in New Zealand since 2017, in partnership with the New Zealand League Against Epilepsy and the Paediatric Neurology Clinical Network.
PET courses are delivered twice a year, predominantly in Auckland, with occasional sessions in other cities. They are led by New Zealand Paediatric Neurologists and are designed to ensure that paediatricians maintain expertise in epilepsy care as part of their continuing medical education.
