Lunch and Learn: Sleep – working together to support children and their whānau

Join our Neurodevelopment Network for their June Lunch and Learn session with Jane Hamer, who will explore why sleep is a shared responsibility across sectors, and how we can better support tamariki with disabilities and their whānau.

🗓️ Tuesday 10 June 2025 | 🕛 12.00–12.30pm | 📍 Zoom
Presented by: Jane Hamer, Paediatric Physiotherapist and Clinical Leader, Te Whatu Ora Waitematā

Jane will share insights from the 2024 AusACPDM conference, drawing on a powerful workshop titled ‘Promoting Wellbeing for children, young people and their families: A practical approach’. This session will touch on:

  • A brief overview of the science of sleep

  • Common factors affecting sleep in children with disability

  • Practical tools including the Wellness Wheel, SleepLinks C Words, and Sleep Comfort Map

  • Why sleep matters — and why it’s everyone’s business

This session is ideal for health, education, and community professionals who work with tamariki and rangatahi. It will be followed by a knowledge translation session in July.
