Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse Assessment Training Course (March 2026)

2 Feb 2026

Registrations are now open for the annual training course in the assessment of, and response to, child and adolescent sexual abuse, running in March 2026.

This course is:

  • Accepted by the RACP as part of advanced training in child protection for general and community paediatricians

  • Strongly recommended for anyone who has (or may have) clinical responsibilities in this area

  • Open to paediatricians, other medical practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals providing (or intending to provide) clinical services in this space

  • Recognised by MEDSAC as part of the accreditation pathway for clinicians wishing to provide services under the SAATS contract in Aotearoa New Zealand

Format

The course is hybrid, with:

  • 25 hours of online pre-learning (available one month before the face-to-face component, and accessible for 12 months afterwards)

  • Two days live, face-to-face, with a virtual registration option

In recent years, there’s been a roughly 50:50 split between in-person and remote attendees, and the hybrid model has been working well, particularly for clinicians in remote areas or where time zones suit.
