Growing the Neurodevelopmental Network and Allied Health Leadership
The PSNZ Education Fund enables paediatric professionals to grow their impact, strengthen networks, and improve health outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.
Denise Janes, Clinical Lead and Co-Chair of the PSNZ Neurodevelopmental Clinical Network, used her grant to attend the 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting in Ōtepoti Dunedin. She also co-hosted a packed Neurodevelopmental Network breakfast session, where attendees shared ideas, joined the network, and stepped up to shape future events.
It was standing room only. The level of engagement and interest was incredible—and it’s clear there’s a growing appetite to see allied health play a stronger role in PSNZ’s mahi.” – Denise Janes
Denise’s presence helped spotlight equity-focused sessions relevant to her work with neurodivergent tamariki, and she’s already incorporating these learnings into her leadership and planning.
Following the conference, Denise:
- Recruited new members and working group leads for upcoming education events
- Confirmed speakers for the 2025 PSNZ Lunch and Learn sessions
- Recommitted to advocating for greater allied health representation in paediatrics
Her leadership will continue to build momentum across the Neurodevelopmental Network, advancing outcomes for tamariki and their whānau nationwide.
