Meet PSNZ's New Lived Experience Navigators!

13 August 2025

We are so excited to introduce the Lived Experience Navigators (LENs) Rōpū, a group of health and advocacy professionals who represent the voices of whānau and communities within the New Zealand Child and Youth Clinical Networks.

The LENs Rōpū was formed to ensure that lived experience is woven into everything we do. Their role is to connect community perspectives with the health system, supporting better outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau.

LENs Rōpū values:

  • Kaupapa Whānau: whānau are the reason for our mahi
  • Kotahitanga: working together for a common goal
  • Whanaungatanga: valuing our connections
  • Synergy: partnering to amplify change
  • Respect: operating with and advocating for respect across all experiences

We invite you to learn more about the group and meet the members on the new LENs Rōpū webpage: www.paediatrics.org.nz/our-work/lived-experience-navigators

This is just the beginning. Watch this space as we begin to share stories from LENs members, highlighting their work across our Clinical Networks, and work with partner organisations to strengthen whānau voice in child health.

If you have any questions about the LENs Rōpū or how to engage with them, please contact us at [email protected]
