We're looking for a paediatrician to join the Diabetes National Clinical Network Reference Group. If you're interested in contributing to national quality improvement in paediatric diabetes care, this could be a great fit.
About the role: The Reference Group provides clinical leadership to ensure consistent, evidence-based diabetes services across Aotearoa. You'd be involved in developing practice guidelines, whānau resources, professional education, and quality improvement initiatives - all grounded in a Te Tiriti o Waitangi framework with a strong focus on health equity, particularly for Māori and Pacific communities.
Practical details:
- Approximately 6-8 meetings per year (5 online, 1 face-to-face in Wellington or Auckland)
- All travel costs are fully funded
- Multidisciplinary team (endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians, whānau voice, and others)
- Term to June 2026
- Full administrative and management support provided
Who they're looking for: Paediatricians with clinical expertise in diabetes management and ideally experience working within Māori/Pacific communities. You don't need to be a specialist endocrinologist; interest and commitment to the mahi is what matters.
How to apply: Send your CV, a brief cover letter (outlining your skills, experience, and why you're interested), and contact details to Kat Kirchmann: [email protected]
Deadline: Friday 30 January 2026
