Te Whare Kaiao: An Indigenous Informed Framework for Paediatric Palliative Care Tuesday 16 June 2026 | 8:00–9:00am | Online
The Paediatric Palliative Care Clinical Network (NZCYCN) is hosting a webinar presenting Te Whare Kaiao — an indigenous informed framework for the care of children with serious illness and their whānau in Aotearoa.
Developed using a kaupapa Māori community participatory research approach based on Te Whare Tapa Whā, the framework shifts the focus of paediatric palliative care away from end of life, toward supporting tamariki to reach their full potential and focus on living, despite serious illness.
Speakers are Dr Gemma Aburn and Dr Tess Moeke-Maxwell, both Senior Research Fellows from Te Ārai Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group, School of Nursing, University of Auckland.
This webinar will be of interest to physiotherapists working with tamariki with serious or life-limiting conditions and their whānau.
