The Paediatric Society of New Zealand Eczema Child and Youth Clinical Network has developed a national nursing audit to better understand the eczema education needs of nurses working with children and young people across Aotearoa.
This work has been led by Faasoa Aupaau, Paediatric Dermatology Nurse Specialist at Starship Children's Health and a member of the Eczema Clinical Network. Drawing on her clinical expertise and experience supporting tamariki and whānau affected by eczema, Faasoa identified an opportunity to better understand the learning needs of the nursing workforce and inform future education and support initiatives.
The purpose of this audit is to identify whether there is an eczema education need for nurses working with tamariki and whānau affected by eczema, and to understand how we can best support this learning.
The audit consists of a short questionnaire with a mix of multiple-choice and short-answer questions. We have aimed to gather meaningful information while keeping the time required to complete it to a minimum. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
